Volunteer Oportunities 2006
Thank you for considering volunteering for this very worthwhile event! Whether you are a parent of a senior or a parent of a first grader, we can use you! This exciting night cannot continue without the dedication of volunteers like you. This is as much for the parents as it is for the students because parents can sleep easily knowing their sons and daughters are in a safe, well-chaperoned environment having the time of their lives with all their TMHS friends!
Parents of seniors are not allowed to chaperone on the evening of the event, so we look to parents of underclassmen and elementary school students to help out that night. We will also have police officers on duty to help us out.
The following areas are where we currently need help this year:
So, if you want to help, please email us and let us know as soon as you can so that we can make sure you get on our list. If you have already submitted a volunteer form to Pat or Mary Jo, you are all set and will be notified as soon as we work out our schedule.
Create Decorations – We will be creating some new decorations this year, so if you can sew or have a creative eye, please contact us. We can use you!!

Decorate – We have an incredible amount of work to do the afternoon and evening of the event. We will transform the high school into an exciting place that the students will not even recognize as their school! Since senior parents will be attending graduation ceremonies, we count on parents of younger students to help with this very important job! We have just about 8 hours to put ALL the decorations up, bring in the gift bags, set up the food/drink areas, blow up balloons and do all the other things necessary to make this a magical night! We will have “captains” assigned to each area, to instruct you in the “how to’s” of decorating your particular spot, so do not worry about that! If you can come in even for just an hour between 1 and 9 on the afternoon/evening of the party, it would really help! If you volunteer for this activity, please let us know when you are available.

Chaperones
If you decide to help out as a chaperone, please provide us with some additional information regarding times and areas you prefer. We will definitely honor your time slot request, but we cannot guarantee you will receive your area request. We will do our best to accommodate our volunteers.
AREAS
- kitchen
- casino area (must know how to deal black jack or Texas Hold ‘em)
- “inflatables” area (more men are needed here since these large games sometimes move and have to be pushed back into place)
- gift area
- vault area, and
- videotaping the event.
We also have many people “patrolling” the areas being used at the party, so we need a good number of volunteers, but not so many that this becomes a party for the adults and not the kids! We will also have people assigned as “floaters” so that our volunteers will be able to take breaks when they need to.

Clean-up
This is an area that is usually filled by senior parents. Since they cannot chaperone the event, they can come in at the end and say thank you to some of the people who helped to make this event happen for their children. The clean-up crew will take down all the decorations and pack them away for next year.
